We do first of all ask and request that you would pray for us. We have posted our list of prayer requests, so that those who are friends of this ministry might know how to better pray for us. Thank you for doing this. We do not take it for granted and we appreciate it very much.
Beyond this, another way that we need your help is to contribute financially to our efforts.
We are a 100% volunteer ministry & organization. We use these funds to keep this website up and to continue to print and distribute books. Even a very small donation might not seem like much, but it really makes a huge impact on us and our work. There are many additional books that we do want to publish and are currently in production. Your funds will help to greatly reduce our costs, and to speed up the information that we can post and help others with. We are grateful that you share our vision of helping to educate those around us and around the world.
We want to let you know what happens with ministry. We attempt to be sensitive to the needs of those who write to us. When we receive many emails on a particular topic, we respond by posting information - about that topic. A lot of what we do involves answering the multitudes of emails about doctrinal issues or questions, or requests for books, or for book recomendations on particular issues. Those issue are not important, except to the person who is asking the question. (But that is what we are here for, to be a resource to those who visit us on the web).
Think of it this way: many people in this life are stuck; they are stuck because they do not know where to find an answer to their question, or where even to begin to look. Most people surf the net for hours, and desperately try to find sites where the professionalism of the ministry or organization is Not a detraction from the Human factor, just simply being able to reach out and say hi, and know that your question or your comment or concern will be treated carefully, wisely and respectfully.
We try to do that. Those that the Lord brings into our path are those that we have the chance to help. You might be amazed at how helpful a small amount of information can be...for the person who asks. The reason is that it helps them to get un-stuck. The information kind of acts like a bridge...to help them from where they are at (in their life) to where they are trying to get.
While you may not have the hours or the contacts to help those seekers know where to find information or how, and while you have your own priorities, one of the ways that you can continue to impact thousands of people around the world, is by helping us.
We talk and talk and talk and talk...and talk some more. We share and discuss doctrine, concepts, ideas, philosophy, where to find information, which books to bring back into print, what questions need to be asked, how we should live life on earth, how to stand up for what is right, or how to be effective in the troubling, disturbing and chaotic times we live in.
But don't forget the big picture: the reason why we try to provide those answers, is because of PEOPLE. Its all about the people. Without being able to reach out and help others, what good would any information do us ? The reason why God puts ministries like this on the Internet, is so that we can help others, and so that they will be close to God. To the extent that we can do this (PTL), then that is the extent to which we have success.
We have thousands who come to our site every month. A one time gift of $ 5.00 or $ 10.00 does not even register with most people. But we use this to help ship books out to those who cannot afford it, or to pay for research in tracking down ancient books to bring back into print - for you, or to buy a hard drive and prevent our site from crashing.
Most people have trouble understanding how their 5.00 or 10.00 contribution would make a difference, but for us - this is huge. If only a few would do this more often we would soon double the amount of material that we could offer. There is so much that we are grateful to know about, and that we want to bring to the public. But the costs of doing this remain high, so every little bit helps. We could go and easily be hired as pastors and social workers. Instead we are here as volunteers to help those that God wants us to. We are happy to be here, but it does take a strong degree of commitment.
For regular everyday supporters, the easiest way is to sign up for a $ 15.00 contribution to XOFC a month. We know it is a sacrifice. But we also believe that you are making a permanent impact through us - on others. Don't sell yourself short. We don't. We are grateful and appreciate you help.
